Job Summary
Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee will join the Safelite training program to become a certified Technician. Responsibilities include observing and assisting with installing and repairing auto glass, recalibrating automotive safety systems, diagnosing issues, performing related services and products, and maintaining safety and quality standards. The role includes paid hands-on and classroom training, a benefits package, tuition reimbursement, and tools/resources provided to support success. Qualifications emphasize a high school diploma or GED/Equivalent preferred, a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and the ability to read and follow technical directions and safely operate tools and vehicles.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent Preferred
- Valid state-issued driver’s license to operate a company vehicle
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in tight spaces
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle in compliance with laws and be monitored via in-cab safety camera
- Proficiency in reading, writing and understanding English and technical directions
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Willingness to work scheduled days with flexible start/end times
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to work with chemicals and safety procedures
- Willingness to complete training to Safelite-certified Technician
- Ability to interpret and follow technical directions
- Proficiency with computerized diagnostic tools for recalibrations
