Job Summary
Technician Trainee will be trained to become an auto glass technician and, upon completion, earn the Safelite SafeTech certification. Responsibilities include observing/assisting in installing and repairing auto glass, recalibrating automotive safety systems, troubleshooting and performing diagnostic testing, and providing additional services and products. The role involves safely operating company vehicles and tools, maintaining professionalism, and delivering high-quality customer service. The program offers paid training, competitive pay starting at $20.25/hour (rising to $24.00/hour after training), benefits valued at over $10k (401(k) with company matching, medical plans, PTO, holidays, volunteer days), tuition reimbursement up to $5,250 annually, and opportunities to gain Safelite certification and career growth. Education preferred includes High School Diploma/GED; a valid driver’s license is required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Valid state-issued driver's license to operate a company vehicle
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with laws and be monitored via in-cab camera
- Ability to read, write and interpret English; communicate orally and in writing
- Willingness to work scheduled days with flexible start/end times
- Ability to learn to recalibrate safety systems and perform diagnostic testing
- Proficiency with computerized diagnostic tools
- Ability to maintain professional appearance and adherence to dress code
