Job Summary
Be paid to learn and apprentice the Safelite way as an Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee. You will observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass, recalibrate automotive safety systems, perform diagnostic testing, and provide additional services/products. Through hands-on and classroom training, you’ll study and pass testing to become a Safelite-certified Technician, gaining skills to perform unsupervised glass repair, replacement, and recalibrations, while operating company vehicles and tools and upholding high quality standards and customer service. The program includes paid training, benefits, tuition reimbursement, and opportunities for promotion, with initial weekly pay starting at $20.25/hour (rising to $24/hour after training and certification).
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent preferred
- Valid state-issued driver’s license to operate a company vehicle
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in tight spaces
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with laws and be monitored via in-cab vehicle safety camera/video surveillance
- Willingness to work scheduled days with flexibility on start and end times
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English and technical directions
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Professional appearance and adherence to dress code and PPE policies
- Ability to maintain performance under pressure
