Job Summary
Trainee will be trained to become an auto glass technician through hands-on and classroom training, leading to Safelite SafeTech certification. Responsibilities include observing/assisting with auto glass installation and repair, recalibrating automotive safety systems, troubleshooting with diagnostic testing, delivering additional services and products, studying to pass certification, operating company vehicles and tools, and adhering to safety and company policies while delivering high-quality service. Competitive weekly pay starts at $20.25/hour and increases to $24/hour after training/certification, with comprehensive benefits and tuition reimbursement outlined by Safelite. Education required includes a High School Diploma or GED/equivalent (preferred).
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma GED/Equivalent Preferred
- Valid state-issued driver’s license to operate a company vehicle
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist body
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with laws
- Willingness to be monitored via in-cab vehicle safety camera / video surveillance
- Proficiency in English reading/writing and communication
- Ability to learn and pass Safelite certification
