Job Summary
Auto Body Technician responsible for the meticulous assessment and repair of vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition. Performs disassembly, repair, reassembly, realigns car chassis/frames, replaces or repairs parts (including glass, interior, and paint), welds and refinishes, and prepares cost estimates. Works with team to meet KPIs and delivers quality customer experience, following WOW plan and labor-time guidelines. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus technical school training or a 3-year apprenticeship in auto body repair; able to operate shop tools, lift up to 30 pounds, and perform inspections under varying conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
- Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
- Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
