Job Summary
Auto Body Technician responsible for precise assessment and repair of vehicles to pre-accident condition. Roles include disassembling, repairing, and reassembling vehicles; realigning chassis and frames; replacing damaged sections with new or aftermarket parts; repairing glass, interiors, and applying paint. Uses tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers; prepares cost estimates and follows WOW plan; aims to complete work within labor time guidelines and ensure repairs meet quality standards. Strong reading of job orders, ability to work with others in a shop, thorough understanding of repair methods, and safe work practices are essential. Requires ability to lift up to 30 pounds, bend/kneel, and work in a noisy environment. Benefits include PTO, parental leave, insurance, 401(k), education opportunities, and other well-being perks. Compensation is flat-rate and benefits from booked hours, with annual target range between $50,000 and $150,000.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
