Job Summary
Auto Body Technician responsible for meticulous assessment and quality repair of vehicles to restore pre-accident condition. Duties include disassembling, repairing, and reassembling vehicles; planning repairs and preparing cost estimates; using tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers; dent repair and filler resins; realigning chassis and frames; replacing or repairing parts including glass, interior components, and paint; welding and attaching parts, and repainting to factory specs or equivalent. Aimed to meet labor-time guidelines and ensure customer satisfaction, collaborating with team to achieve KPIs and uphold the brand standards as a dedicated ambassador. Requires safety-consciousness, ability to inspect vehicles post-repair, and ability to work in a busy shop environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
- Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
