Job Summary
Auto Body Technician responsible for diagnosing and repairing vehicles to pre-accident condition, including disassembly and reassembly, realigning chassis, replacing damaged sections and glass, welding and repainting, and ensuring work meets labor-time KPIs. Uses tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair sections; prepares cost estimates for customers; collaborates with team to deliver speed, quality, and customer excellence; adheres to the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan and maintains safety and accuracy throughout the repair process. Requires high school diploma or equivalent and completion of technical school or apprenticeship; strong understanding of repair techniques, tools, and ability to read job orders; able to lift up to 30 pounds and work in a noisy environment. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
- Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision
- Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
- Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
