Job Summary
Auto Body Technician responsible for meticulous assessment and quality repair of customer vehicles to restore pre-accident condition. Performs disassembly, repair, and reassembly, realigns chassis/frames, replaces or repairs damaged sections and glass, welds, and preps/repaints with factory-specified paint or equivalent. Plans repair work, prepares cost estimates, and works to achieve repair facility KPIs while delivering an exceptional customer experience. Uses tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers; reads job orders; collaborates with teammates; adheres to safety and process standards. Requires ability to read job orders, work with minimal supervision, and lift up to 30 pounds; physical demands include bending, stretching, kneeling, and squatting. Background includes high school diploma or equivalent and either technical school completion or a 3-year apprenticeship in auto body repair. The role emphasizes teamwork, quality workmanship, and adherence to WOW operating standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
- Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
