Job Summary
Assess and repair customer vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition, meticulously disassembling, realigning frames, and replacing damaged sections or glass. Execute the WOW Operating Way plan by preparing cost estimates, using tools like cutting guns and hydraulic jacks to hammer dents, apply filler resins, weld parts, and repaint vehicles. Complete work orders within labor time guidelines, inspecting repairs for quality while collaborating with team members to meet facility KPIs. Requires high school diploma, technical school completion, or apprenticeship; ability to work with little supervision in noisy, odor-filled environments. Performs physically demanding tasks including lifting 30 pounds, bending, and squatting in various weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
- Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision
- Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
- Ability to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds at times
- Ability to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions
- Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
