Job Summary
Diagnose and repair damaged vehicles, plan repair processes, and communicate repair status. Make decisions on repair versus replacement considering safety, cost, and cycle time. Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic components to access damaged areas and restore fenders as needed. Follow safety meetings and perform grinding and sanding of repaired surfaces using power and hand tools. Directs the work of an apprentice when needed and explains procedures. Certification in body repair is preferred and I-CAR welding certification is noted. Knowledge of the vehicle repair process by manufacturer is expected; background check is required.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to use frame machine.
- Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer.
- I-CAR welding certified.
- Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data.
- Ability to supervise repair personnel.
- Must be able to pass thorough background check
