Job Summary
Auto Body Technician responsible for examining damaged vehicles, planning repair, communicating repair status, performing quality repairs with an on-time focus, making repair-vs-replace decisions considering safety, cost and cycle time, removing upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window operating equipment, and trim to access areas, participating in safety meetings, filing, grinding, and sanding repaired surfaces, directing an apprentice when needed, and using power and hand tools. Requires ability to use a frame machine and knowledge of vehicle repair processes. I-CAR welding certification and body repair certification are relevant, with certification in body repair preferred; candidate should be able to supervise repair personnel and interpret measuring data; background check required.
