Job Summary
Auto Body Technician responsible for examining damaged vehicles, planning repair processes, and performing quality repairs with emphasis on safety, cost, and cycle time. Communicates repair status with teammates, makes repair-vs-replace decisions, and directs an apprentice when needed. Performs material removal (upholstery, electrical and hydraulic components, trim) to access body panels, and conducts surface finishing (grinding/sanding) using power and hand tools. Requires knowledge of frame machines, I-CAR welding, and overall vehicle repair processes; role involves adherence to safety meetings and collaboration with the team to ensure timely, quality repairs.
Required Qualifications
- Certification in body repair preferred
- I-CAR welding certified
- Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer
- Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data
- Ability to supervise repair personnel
- Must be able to pass thorough background check
