Job Summary
Auto Body Technician responsible for examining damaged vehicles and planning repairs, communicating repair status, performing quality repairs with an emphasis on on-time completion, and deciding between repair vs. replacement considering safety and cost. Duties include removing upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic components to access areas, using power tools and hand tools, applying grinding and sanding, and directing the work of an apprentice when needed. Requires frame machine proficiency and I-CAR welding certification; awareness of safety through required meetings and adherence to process standards.
Required Qualifications
- Certification in body repair preferred
- I-CAR welding certified
- Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer
- Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data
- Ability to use frame machine
- Must be able to pass thorough background check
- Ability to supervise repair personnel
