Job Summary
Auto Body Technician responsible for examining damaged vehicles, planning repair, and performing quality repairs while maintaining on-time status. Responsibilities include communicating repair status, deciding repair vs. replace by considering safety, cost, and cycle time; removing upholstery, electrical and hydraulic components, trim to gain access; participating in safety meetings; filing, grinding, and sanding repaired surfaces; directing the work of an apprentice when needed and explaining procedures. Required tools/skills include using a frame machine, I-CAR welding certification, knowledge of the vehicle repair process by manufacturer, and ability to supervise repair personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Certification in body repair preferred
- I-CAR welding certified
- Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer
- Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data
- Ability to supervise repair personnel
- Must be able to pass thorough background check
