Job Summary
Auto Body Technician responsibilities include examining damaged vehicles and planning repairs, communicating repair status, performing quality repairs with on-time goals, deciding between repair vs. replacement based on safety, cost, and cycle time, accessing vehicle components by removing upholstery and related parts, participating in safety meetings, finishing surfaces with grinding and sanding, and directing an apprentice when needed while explaining procedures to assistants. Required qualifications include body repair certification, I-CAR welding certification, knowledge of manufacturer repair processes, ability to supervise repair personnel, and the ability to pass a background check.
