Job Summary
Auto Body Technician responsible for examining damaged vehicles, planning repair processes, and coordinating with team to communicate repair status. Perform quality repairs while maintaining on-time status, decide between repair vs. replace based on safety, cost, and cycle time, and remove upholstery/electrical components to access areas as needed. Participate in safety meetings, finish surfaces with grinding/sanding using power and hand tools, and direct an apprentice when needed. Requires ability to use a frame machine, I-CAR welding certification, and knowledge of vehicle repair processes by manufacturer; prior supervisory ability is a plus. Compensation includes a commission/flag pay structure with benefits and a base pay range listed. Must pass a background check and is based in Ferndale, MI at the posted location.
Required Qualifications
- Certification in body repair preferred
- I-CAR welding certified
- Ability to use frame machine
- Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer
- Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data
- Ability to supervise repair personnel
- Must be able to pass thorough background check
