Job Summary
Examines damaged vehicle and plans repair process; communicates repair status with others; performs quality repairs while keeping on-time status in mind; makes decisions on repair vs. replace considering safety, cost, and cycle time; removes upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle and fenders; directs the work of an apprentice when needed and explains procedures to assistant; files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools; participates in safety meetings; Responsible for ensuring repairs meet standards and quality expectations.
Required Qualifications
- I-CAR welding certified
- Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer
- Ability to supervise repair personnel
- Ability to use frame machine
- Certification in body repair preferred
