Job Summary
Examines damaged vehicle and efficiently plans repair process. Communicates repair status with others, performs quality repairs while maintaining on-time status, and decides between repair vs. replace considering safety, cost, and cycle time. Removes upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic components, and trim to access damaged areas. Participates in safety meetings; files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces using power and hand tools. Directs an apprentice when needed and explains procedures. Requires use of frame machine; I-CAR welding certification and knowledge of vehicle repair processes. Oversees repair personnel as needed; background check required.
Required Qualifications
- Certification in body repair preferred
- I-CAR welding certified
- Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer
- Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data
- Ability to supervise repair personnel
- Must be able to pass thorough background check
