Job Summary
Assess and repair customer vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition by disassembling, aligning frames, replacing parts, welding, and repainting. Execute the WOW Operating Way plan by planning repairs, preparing cost estimates, and using tools like cutting guns and hydraulic jacks to fix dents, structural damage, and glass. Replace damaged sections with new or aftermarket parts, inspect work for quality, and complete orders within labor time guidelines while maintaining safety standards in noisy environments.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
- Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision
- Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
- Ability to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds at times
- Ability to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions
- Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
