Job Summary
Assess and repair customer vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition, disassembling, reassembling, and replacing damaged sections including glass, interiors, and structural frames. Execute the WOW Operating Way plan by planning repairs, preparing cost estimates, and using tools like cutting guns and hydraulic jacks to hammer dents, apply filler resins, realign chassis, weld parts, and repaint vehicles. Inspect completed work against labor time guidelines and ensure all repairs meet quality standards. Requires high school diploma, technical school completion, or apprenticeship, with the ability to work safely in noisy areas with odors and lift up to 30 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
- Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision
- Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
- Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
