Job Summary
Assess and repair customer vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition, utilizing tools like cutting guns, plasma cutters, and hydraulic jacks to disassemble, reassemble, and fix structural damage. Execute the WOW Operating Way plan by planning repairs, preparing cost estimates, and performing tasks such as hammering dents, applying filler resins, realigning chassis, replacing parts, welding, and repainting. Inspect vehicles after repair to ensure work meets labor time guidelines and quality standards while maintaining safety in noisy environments with potential odors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
- Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision
- Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
- Ability to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds at times
- Ability to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions
- Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
