Job Summary
Assess and repair customer vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition by disassembling, reassembling, and replacing damaged sections, glass, and interior parts. Execute the WOW Operating Way plan by planning repairs, preparing cost estimates, and using tools like cutting guns, plasma cutters, and hydraulic jacks to hammer dents, apply filler resins, realign chassis, weld parts, and repaint vehicles. Inspect completed work to ensure correct execution and attempt to meet labor time guidelines. Requires high school diploma, technical school completion, or apprenticeship; ability to work with little supervision, lift 30 pounds, and perform physical tasks in noisy areas with odors. Flat rate compensation of $21.00 to $30.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
- Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision
- Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
- Ability to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds at times
- Ability to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions
- Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
