Job Summary
Assess and repair customer vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition by disassembling, realigning frames, replacing damaged sections, and applying filler resins. Use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, and hydraulic jacks to fix dents, structural damage, and glass issues while preparing cost estimates. Weld, attach, and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint, then inspect work to ensure correct execution within labor time guidelines. Maintain WOW Operating Way standards and support team members to achieve repair facility KPIs. Complete work orders safely in noisy areas with odors, lifting up to 30 pounds and performing physical tasks like bending and squatting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
- Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision
- Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
- Ability to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds at times
- Ability to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions
- Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
