Job Summary
Assess and repair customer vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition, ensuring consistent execution of the WOW Operating Way plan. Plan repair work, prepare cost estimates, and use tools like cutting guns, plasma cutters, and hydraulic jacks to disassemble, reassemble, and fix structural damage. Hammers out dents, mix filler resins, realign chassis, replace damaged sections, weld parts, and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint. Inspect completed work orders to verify correct execution and attempt to finish tasks within labor time guidelines. Requires high school diploma, technical school completion, or apprenticeship; ability to work with little supervision in noisy areas with odors; lifting up to 30 pounds; and physical stamina for bending, stretching, and squatting. Flat rate compensation ranges from $23.00 to $30.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
- Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision
- Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
- Ability to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds at times
- Ability to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions
- Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
