Job Summary
Manage car movement into and out of the Inspection Center safely while meeting daily, weekly, and monthly production goals. Oversee assigned team activities, identify strengths and weaknesses, and provide coaching, development, and performance management to foster positive communication and cohesion. Review and approve mechanical and physical defects of incoming inventory, then lead associates in repairing or rejecting vehicles based on estimated repair costs and quality standards. Train production associates on Quality Control standards to complete repairs effectively and efficiently the first time, minimizing re-work and delays. Prevent injuries by adhering to safety protocols and resolve conflicts among team members. Maintain adherence to systems, policies, and performance standards in a fast-paced environment that may involve cold, hot, noisy, or wet conditions. Work overtime and weekends as necessary, with a full-time competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience using computers
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Demonstrated functional expertise in one or more areas pertaining to Carvana's reconditioning process
- Demonstrated understanding of our current reconditioning processes and lean principles
- Valid unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels
- Ability to maintain high volume and high-quality content in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to effectively delegate tasks to team members
- Ability to communicate and interact with others effectively in a professional, courteous manner
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and oral
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Ability to resolve complex issues with guidance from others
- Ability to work overtime and on weekends
- Ability to work variable schedule(s) as necessary
