Job Summary
Auto Body Mechanic responsible for examining damaged vehicles, planning repair, and performing quality repairs while maintaining on-time status. Requires decision-making on repair vs. replace considering safety, cost, and cycle time; disassembly of upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic components to access areas; use of power tools and hand tools; directing an apprentice when needed and explaining procedures. Certified I-CAR welding and frame-machine operation are relevant qualifications; certification in body repair preferred. Strong knowledge of the vehicle repair process by manufacturer and ability to supervise repair personnel are expected. Safety meetings participation and adherence to comprehensive benefits and compensation structure are noted.
