Job Summary
The Auto Body Estimator assesses vehicle damage, prepares repair estimates, and manages the repair process from intake to delivery. Serves as the primary contact for customers and insurance companies, uses estimating software (CCC, Mitchell, Audatex) and OEM guidelines, writes supplements as new damage is found, and ensures estimates meet insurance and shop profitability standards. Communicates repair timelines and expectations to customers, coordinates with insurance adjusters to obtain approvals, orders parts, and tracks progress to meet cycle-time goals. Performs final walk-through with customers at delivery and maintains quality and safety standards while upholding professional relationships with customers and insurers.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience as an auto body estimator or damage appraiser preferred
- Knowledge of collision repair processes and materials
- Familiarity with estimating software (CCC, Mitchell, Audatex, etc.)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer and documentation skills
