Job Summary
Autistic Support Teacher for a self-contained Kindergarten classroom at Wissahickon Charter School's Fernhill Campus. Responsibilities include delivering functional academics, life skills, and communication training; implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and positive behavior supports; supervising paraprofessionals; coordinating with SLPs, OTs, and BCBA(s) to integrate therapeutic goals; developing and monitoring IEPs; using structured teaching, visual supports, and social skills instruction; collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams; collecting and analyzing student performance data to guide instruction and progress toward IEP goals; maintaining regular parent communication; and upholding the CARES values. Requirements include Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and PA Special Education certification; experience with ASD; training in ABA/PBS/Structured Teaching; urban teaching experience; strong collaboration and data skills; and ability to contribute to ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- PA Special Education teacher certification required
- Experience teaching students with autism spectrum disorder and knowledge of child development, autism spectrum disorder, and special education practices
- Training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Positive Behavior Supports (PBS), Structured Teaching, or related methodologies preferred
