Job Summary
Deliver and facilitate behavior intervention plans and instructional programs based on Individualized Treatment Plan goals. Observe, describe, and document client data regarding behavior presentation and skills acquisition using various measurements. Provide individualized supervision and support for personal care activities, advocate for client needs, and assist in activities of daily living. Utilize structured activity schedules to support clients in organizing daily routines and lead planned activities to optimize treatment progress. Protect clients from physical and emotional harm using Safety-Care crisis management strategies and respond appropriately to emergency situations. Teach clients functional communication, emotion regulation, and independence while maintaining accurate clinical records. Participate in team meetings, treatment planning discussions, and ongoing training.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma
- Basic knowledge of autism spectrum disorders
- Basic knowledge of child and adolescent development
- Basic knowledge of human sexuality
- Basic knowledge of family
- Skill, knowledge and abilities to perform the essential duties of their role
- Ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment
- Awareness, sensitivity and skills in working professionally with diverse individuals, groups and communities who represent various cultural and personal background and characteristics
- Ability to communicate clearly using verbal, nonverbal, and written skills in a professional context
- Clear understanding and use of professional language
- Adherence to professional values such as honesty, personal responsibility, and accountability
- Ability to apply ethical concepts within scope of work
- Ability to adhere to Agency policies and procedures
- Ability to function effectively as a member of a professional team that includes employees, clients and family members
- Ability to recognize problems and respond appropriately
- Ability to gather information and sort through it to identify and address root cause issues
- Ability to make timely decisions
- Competence in utilizing Agency computer systems and software as required performing essential job functions
- Combination of education, training and/or experience in working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in related field (i.e., Psychology, Special Education, Communication Sciences & Disorders, etc.)
