Job Summary
Assist clients with participation in the classroom, skills groups, and educational support as assigned. Help the treatment team provide academic structure through behavioral techniques and procedures. De-escalate clients when necessary or intervene when behavior poses a threat of harm. Support client health by assisting with hygiene responsibilities. Follow agency documentation policies for assessments, care plans, and discharge plans. Participate in ongoing professional development to meet licensure requirements. The Autism Aide works within a classroom setting at the Carmen B. Pingree Autism Center of Learning, supporting children with autism to build confidence and independence.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- CPR certification (post hire as needed)
- Safety Care certification (post hire)
- Current driver's license
- Must be 21 years old
