Job Summary
Verify insurance eligibility, analyze patient ability to pay, and arrange payment plans or third-party resources. Pre-authorize procedures and surgeries, then coordinate multiple appointments for patients within the Patient Centered Medical Home and ancillary services. Update patient registration, complete forms, and fax documentation to insurance companies to ensure timely responses. Work 8-hour shifts five days a week in a normal office environment with occasional travel to various health system locations. Prioritize tasks, handle emergent situations, and utilize hospital-associated software to verify medical necessity for Medicare patients.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two years previous office administrative/clerical experience
- Detailed knowledge of business office processes
- Typing and computer literacy
- Reading and writing skills
- Organizing and filing
- Professional phone etiquette
- Sufficient computer skills to complete an online application and the pre-employment annual learning requirements
- Ability to effectively communicate in English
- Ability to prioritize
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to handle emergent situations
- Ability to handle critical deadlines
- Ability to perform other duties as necessary
- Occasional travel to various health system locations
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Desired Qualifications
