Coordinate with primary care physicians and insurance companies to obtain referrals and authorizations for upcoming office visits; ensure all authorizations are documented in the system; inform patients of potential problems regarding authorization; collaborate with Billing/Collections to obtain authorizations on previously denied claims; coordinate with Benefit Verification to confirm benefits when issues arise; use insurance portals (Availity, Humana Military/Tricare, UnitedHealthcare, etc.) to obtain referrals and authorizations; 2+ years of experience in a medical environment; high school graduate; strong customer service and data-entry skills; orthopedic solutions environment; drug-free workplace with pre-employment drug screening.
