Job Summary
Authorization and Referral Specialist for Plastic Surgery processes, submits, schedules and follows up on referrals and treatment authorization requests; tracks referrals by program and payer; delivers customer service to patients, employees, and the public. Requires bilingual English/Spanish, high school diploma or equivalency, and at least two years in the medical field (front office, scheduling, referral authorization); knowledge of health plans, eligibility and guidelines; strong computer skills and a minimum typing speed of 35 wpm. The role supports operations Monday–Friday, 8AM–5PM in Las Vegas, NV, with benefits including PTO, holidays, 401K, and health coverage.; 8AM to 5PM (Actual hours may vary depending on business need)
Required Qualifications
- Two years in the medical field to include front office, appointment scheduling and referral authorization
- Must be bilingual English/Spanish
- Knowledge of health plans, eligibility and guidelines
- Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English
- Demonstrated ability to use a computer
- Minimum typing speed of 35 wpm
- Experience with the Seriously Mentally Ill population preferred
- Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT billing codes a plus
