Job Summary
Process, submit, schedule, and follow up on referrals and treatment authorizations while tracking existing referrals by program and payer. Manage a demanding workload with accuracy, utilizing excellent customer service skills for patients, employees, and the public. Maintain bilingual English/Spanish proficiency and knowledge of health plans, eligibility, and guidelines to ensure timely processing. This role supports UNLV Health's operations, requiring two years of medical field experience including front office and referral authorization. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Required Qualifications
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- Two years in the medical field to include front office, appointment scheduling and referral authorization
- Must be Bilingual English/Spanish
- Knowledge of health plans, eligibility and guidelines
- Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English
- Demonstrated ability to use a computer
- Minimum typing speed of 35 wpm
- Must be flexible, organized and must be able to manage a demanding workload with accuracy
- Excellent customer service skills with patients, employees, and the public
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with the Seriously Mentally Ill population preferred
- Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT billing codes a plus
