Job Summary
Heavy Paving Equipment/Diesel Mechanic (NON-DOT) maintains company-owned tools, equipment and vehicles used in heavy highway and civil paving operations in Texas. Works closely with Milling, Asphalt, Trucking, and Maintenance Teams to ensure assets are kept in good working order, following a standard maintenance schedule and logging maintenance activities. Requires experience with diesel equipment, trucking machinery, and familiarity with paving operations; duties include diagnosing issues, preparing cost estimates for repairs, placing replacement part orders, and supporting safety practices. Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to work independently with dependable work ethic; teamwork is emphasized and adherence to safety policies is required.
Required Qualifications
- Trade school or 3-5+ years of qualified experience
- Candidates must possess a driver's license that is valid and clear
- Work experience with diagnostics, maintenance, and operation of asphalt, milling, and trucking equipment and vehicles
- Must be organized with a detail-oriented mindset
- Must be positive, friendly, and professional
- Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety policy, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture
- Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others
- Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas
- Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required
