Job Summary
Transport equipment and materials to various job locations across Texas while performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Conduct daily preventative maintenance, record inspections, and manage fueling, cleaning, and fluid checks. Complete trip tickets, utilize tracking apps, and maintain vehicles to company standards. Work hand in hand with the Trucking Manager to determine prime schedules for transporting equipment and materials. Be available for overtime, extended hours, night shifts, and weekends as required.
Required Qualifications
- CDL (Texas Class A or Class B CDL Driver's License) with clean record
- Must meet DOT employment requirements
- All potential candidates must submit to and have a clear record through the FMCSA Clearinghouse
- Minimum of 2 years experience
- Must be organized with a detail-oriented mindset
- Must be positive, friendly, and professional
- Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety policy
- Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others
- Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas
- Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required
- Knowledge of how the vehicles operate
- Be available for overtime, extended hours, night shifts, and weekends as required
- Travel may be required as our operations span throughout Texas
- Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements
- Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required
- Proper PPE is required at all times
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with paving operations in heavy highways
- Values dependability and reliability
- Can work independently with exemplary work ethic
- Is an experienced CDL truck driver
- Has a valid class B or A license
- Familiarity with Texas area and roadways
- Understands the complexities of the trucking and asphalt industries
- Working knowledge of asphalt production and associated equipment
- Understanding of operations and safety requirements
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations
