Job Summary
Deal games, monitor table monies, and control gaming cards and equipment while ensuring a safe, clean, and friendly environment. Analyze customer play for cheating scams, protect company assets by monitoring guest movements, and pay wins or take losses. Maintain excellent customer service, accurately complete paperwork, and perform assigned duties under frequent time pressure in an interruptive environment. Work 24/7 in a large, fast-paced casino where smoking and alcohol are present. Must possess good hand-eye coordination, knowledge of specified games and regulations, and ability to speak and read English clearly.
Required Qualifications
- 21 years of age or over
- Current dealer school student in Petersburg, VA
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 6 months experience as a casino dealer or certification from an accredited dealer school
- Experience dealing at least two (2) of the following games: Black Jack, Craps or Roulette and working knowledge of novelty games
- Ability to speak English clearly, listen, and follow directions
- Ability to read, write and understand basic instructions in English
- Ability to use chips, cards, and a paddle
- Good hand/eye coordination
- Knowledgeable of specified games and gaming regulations
- Ability to add monies and chips
- Knowledge of theft techniques
- Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressure in an interruptive environment
- Ability to accurately complete paperwork and forms
- Complete, perform and understand basic mathematical functions
- Knowledge of company policy and procedures, IRS Bank Secrecy Act and internal controls
- Complete knowledge of all facilities available to guests on property
- Ability to secure and maintain licensure as required by Virginia Gaming Control Board or any other applicable regulatory entity
- Ability to work in an environment exposed to alcohol and smoking
- Ability to Stand 75%
- Ability to Walk 10%
- Ability to Bend 15% (from waist)
- Ability to make repetitive hand motions
- Use of going up and down 31 stairs multiple times per day and elevators
