Job Summary
Conduct energy audits, combustion testing, and lead testing to determine cost-effective weatherization measures. Act as principal technical contact for contractors, performing in-progress and final inspections to ensure compliance with state and local building codes. Provide family education on hazards such as radon, mold, and carbon monoxide while installing minor energy conservation materials and safety alarms. Maintain accurate client records, analyze energy consumption data, and complete rigorous technical reports. Requires at least two years in energy conservation, ability to operate diagnostic equipment and ladders, and valid driver's license. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years in energy conservation, weatherization, or a related field
- Ability to operate diagnostic equipment, power tools, and ladders
- Must be comfortable with the physical demands of the job, including crawling for up to 2 hours a day (attics/crawlspaces)
- Strong ability to take accurate measurements and perform mathematical calculations for energy usage reports
- Proven ability to work effectively with low-income, disabled, and minority populations
- A valid driver's license
- A clean driving record
- Valid personal vehicle insurance
- Possess Health & Safety Training, AHERA Asbestos Inspector and Lead Renovator certifications, or the ability to complete all necessary coursework and obtain the required certifications within six months of employment
- Possess REA Energy Analyst, REA Diagnostic Technician, REA Stick Built Installer, REA Mobile Home Installer (or their equivalents), REM/Design Specialist, and BPI's HEP Energy Auditor certifications, or the ability to complete all necessary coursework and obtain the required certifications within one year of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (both oral and written)
- Prior experience with REM/Design computer audit tools
- Previous weatherization auditing and testing experience
- Experience in social service programs serving low-income individuals in Washington County
