Job Summary
Auditor, Forestry Chain of Custody — contract role focused on conducting Chain of Custody audits across FSC, PEFC, SFI, and related schemes. Responsibilities include performing robust audits in industrial and urban settings, generating high-quality audit reports with detailed evidence descriptions, assessing management practices for certification standards, and communicating requirements to clients and internal teams. Requires experience in forest products auditing, proficiency in report writing, and ability to travel for on-site audits (home-office based with 75% travel). Preferred qualifications include current FSC/PEFC/SFI Lead Auditor status and ISO training; strong English written communication, organization, teamwork, initiative, and software proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional experience in the forest products sector.
- OR high school certificate and four (4) years of professional experience in the forest products sector.
- ISO training certification or willingness to complete the ISO training offered by SCS
- Fluency in English with work experience that involves professional and technical written communication in English
- Strong organization and prioritization skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong customer service and teamwork orientation
- Initiative, good judgment, ability to work independently, responsive, and adaptive personality
- Applied experience in auditing and/or quality assurance
- Proficient with business software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Information Communication Technology tools (Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
- Ability to travel domestically or on-site audits
