Job Summary

Conduct Food Safety & Product Quality audits across Food Service Operations, Retail Stores, Manufacturing Plants, and Distribution outlets. Provide advanced super user support to functional groups on QMS issues, create customized views, and generate analytical reports within Tracegains. Maintain processing documents for SQF, HACCP, and GFSI programs while organizing co-manufacturer QA files to ensure compliance. Initiate CAPAs, summarize follow-up actions, and drive root-cause investigations for customer feedback and supplier concerns. Perform organoleptic evaluations and deliver Food Safety training to the Local Purveyor & Sales Team. Travel less than 50% to assist in venue audits with management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a food science or related discipline
  • 7+ years of work experience
  • A mixture of education and experience equivalent to the above
  • Experience in auditing various USDA & FDA environments
  • Knowledge of HACCP, SSOP, GMP, GFSI schemes
  • Diverse background of experience in cheese production, meat (cooked and fermented) production, emulsion technology, and hot/cold pack production
  • Fluency in the English language
  • Fluency in the Spanish language
  • Must have excellent oral and written skills at a technical and general level
  • Must be able to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the supply chain within manufacturing, customer locations and corporate environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • General math skills
  • Must be able to read and analyze process charts, graphs, and logs
  • Must have a thorough understanding of statistical analysis
  • Must possess sharpened analytical, logical and problem-solving skills
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be HACCP trained or be able to attend a training course
  • Serve Safe Manager Certification or be able to attend a training course
  • Must be able to lift overhead up to 30 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
  • Must possess sufficient senses to perform effective organoleptic evaluations (corrected sensory ability is acceptable)
  • Must be able to work in both warm and cold environments
  • Must be able to work in a meat, cheese or condiment processing environments (wet, presence of blood and meat juices, loud noises, various olfactory conditions, etc.)
  • Must be able to travel and assist in auditing venues with manager
  • Travel is less than 50%

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in auditing various USDA & FDA environments
  • Diverse background of experience in cheese production, meat (cooked and fermented) production, emulsion technology, and hot/cold pack production
  • SQF or any other GFSI Scheme certification
  • Auditor Certification preferred (i.e. American Society for Quality – Certified HACCP Auditor, Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Supplier Quality Professional)
  • Fluency in the Spanish language
