Job Summary
Auditors are being sought to join the NYC Campaign Finance Board's Auditing & Accounting Unit. Responsibilities include analyzing financial records and disclosure statements for desk and field financial, compliance and investigative audits of political campaigns; performing audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) and internally developed programs; managing assigned audit caseload and coordinating with other CFB units; assisting in planning activities for the audit team during the post-election period; preparing clear, concise, timely written reports; communicating with campaigns professionally and providing guidance on audit and compliance issues; representing the unit on special projects. Key knowledge, skills, and abilities include knowledge of campaign finance laws and regulations, ethics and election law, government auditing standards, strong verbal and written communication, research and analytic capabilities, organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel or equivalent). Experience in a campaign finance or regulatory environment and fluency in multiple languages are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, auditing, business or public administration, computer science, economics, finance, statistics, graphic design, personnel or human resources administration, user experience design, or closely related area of study
- One year of satisfactory full-time experience in accounting, auditing (including compliance or investigative auditing), business or public administration, business analysis, computer science, database administration, economics, finance, fiscal or economic management or research, statistics, graphic design, personnel or human resources administration, user experience design, or closely related field
