Job Summary
Conduct audits and provide consulting services to clients under supervision, managing expectations and leading change efforts. Perform planning, testing, and documentation in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards and GASB guidelines, including research of laws and reference materials. Collaborate with team members to plan project activities, track progress, and maintain document repositories for quality assurance. Assist with detailed technical aspects of engagements, from financial statement reviews to Medicaid statutory compliance and federal grant management. Participate in business development opportunities and stay current with evolving governmental accounting standards. This role involves a core team driving new project pursuits within the Not-For-Profit Practice Group. Travel to client sites, including U.S. territories, may range up to 40%.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA license
- Certified Government Financial Manager credential
- A minimum of five (5) years in the last six (6) years of progressive professional experience performing governmental accounting, general ledger reconciliations, financial statement reviews, and federal grant financial management pursuant to GASB guidelines and 2 CFR § 200 (Uniform Guidance)
- A minimum of three (3) years in the last four (4) years of hands-on experience directly applying Medicaid statutory and regulatory standards (including 42 CFR Part 438), with demonstrated knowledge of Medicaid capitation reconciliations, PMPM financial structures, and federal financial participation (FFP) reporting
- Proven proficiency in reconciling complex financial data originating from Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS/PRMMIS), EDI financial files (EDI 835/834), and Medicaid enterprise financial systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, balancing multiple assignments and achieving quality results in a timely manner
- Ability to create and sustain positive working relationships with staff and diverse constituencies and work independently as well as collaboratively as required
- Knowledgeable in quality assurance/control procedures and demonstrated proactive problem management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
