Job Summary
Conduct global reporting for the Internal Audit function, including quarterly control reports to the Audit Committee, KPI analytics, and ad-hoc dashboarding. Manage regulatory support by tracking exam responses, identifying emerging topics, and ensuring alignment with internal audit practices. Execute data quality programs to improve reporting reliability and promote digital transformation through automation, AI-enabled audit practices, and process improvement initiatives. Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams across North America and Asia to drive audit transformation and deliver training opportunities. This hybrid role at Sun Life's Toronto One York location supports the global Internal Audit Professional Practice group in shaping a best-in-class internal audit function.
Required Qualifications
- Professionally designated Accountant (CPA)
- at least 5 years' audit experience
- previous involvement in the financial services industry and/or audit environment
- Technically proficient in Internal Audit concepts and control frameworks
- experience in the use of large volumes of data
- MS Office
- high attention to detail
- Experience with Excel (specifically Pivot Tables, V/X-look ups)
- Ability to understand complex business processes, their risks and identify key controls
- Ability to effectively communicate directly with and senior audit executives
- provide effective challenge and be persuasive when required
- Demonstrated ability to team well with peers and to build and maintain relationships with all employee levels
- Strong communicator, both verbally and in writing
- ability to prepare clear, concise materials for senior leaders and governance forums
- Profound sense of ethics and the ability to deal with pressure and resolve conflicts
- Strong quantitative, analytical, data intuition and problem-solving skills
- at least 2 days in the office per week at our Toronto One York location
Desired Qualifications
- certification preferred, Ex. CIA
- Experience with Macros
