Job Summary
Manage audits of City agencies and entities under contract by overseeing engagement planning, assigning staff based on knowledge and background, and providing general supervision to field supervisors and teams throughout the process. Ensure the quality and integrity of audit findings while complying with generally accepted government auditing standards. Develop recommendations to correct identified problems and produce clearly written reports for auditees and the public. Lead teams of supervisors and staff auditors, providing direction, training, and support. This role reports to the Assistant Comptroller and involves supervising 2 to 3 audit supervisors and approximately 8 to 10 auditors. The Audit Bureau conducts independent assessments to improve the City's financial position and ensure services are provided efficiently and equitably.
Required Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college
- 24 semester credits in auditing, accounting, finance, economics, statistics, law, quantitative or qualitative research methodology, mathematics, data science, management, public or business administration, computer science/information technology, or a related field
- Five years of full-time experience in performance auditing according to Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS)
- Experience in information technology auditing
- Experience in internal auditing
- Experience in financial auditing
- At least 18 months of experience in a managerial or executive capacity or in the supervision of several teams of auditors
