Job Summary
Lead and supervise audit engagements for private company clients from planning to completion; ensure compliance with accounting and auditing standards, including ASPE; perform risk assessments and develop audit plans; analyze financial statements for accuracy and adherence to accounting principles; manage and mentor audit teams; communicate audit findings and recommendations clearly to clients; ensure quality control and adherence to firm standards; oversee work in progress (WIP) and budgets; contribute to continuous improvement of audit methodologies and tools; requires CPA/CA designation and 1-2 years of management experience in a public accounting firm; hybrid work arrangement in Toronto.
Required Qualifications
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA)
- At least 1-2 years of management experience at a progressive public accounting firm
- Proven track record of leading and managing audit engagements for private companies
- Thorough ASPE knowledge and application of relevant professional standards, regulations and governance
- Familiarity with Canadian Tax
- Ability to provide value-added service to clients
- Strong leadership, coaching and people development skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Advanced computer knowledge including Caseware, Taxprep or Profile and Excel
