Job Summary
Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling for voice, data, and video systems while interpreting blueprints and wiring diagrams to determine optimal routing. Perform troubleshooting and repairs on structured cabling systems, build custom panels from engineering drawings, and oversee all on-site activity to ensure quality and timeline standards. Document all work performed using Blue Beam, maintain toolkits and inventories, and conduct routine preventative maintenance. Complete assignments in accordance with established task durations, provide daily feedback to the manager, and maintain accurate timesheets and activity logs. This role supports a Federal Support Agency client on a long-term contract with a potential full-time hire.
Required Qualifications
- extensive experience and knowledge in working with VTC Systems such as Extron, Crestron & QSC
- transferrable overall AV Experience
- Candidate will have to pass a full federal background check
- Candidate will have to pass a drug test
- Work Location: In person
- Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
- long-term contract
- potential to be a full-time hire
- Initial support will be a 1099 contract for 30-60 days
- Able to read and understand functional design drawings and cable riser diagrams
- Able to complete assignments in accordance with or better than established task durations as well as estimate task durations to meet assigned deadlines
- Advanced Fiber optic cable handling, installation termination, and testing
