Job Summary
The Audiologist role at Rochester Hearing & Speech Center provides comprehensive diagnostic, rehabilitative, and hearing aid dispensing services across the lifespan, including conducting evaluations (pediatric to geriatric), administering audiological procedures, dispensing and servicing hearing aids, counseling patients and families, and coordinating with healthcare and community partners. Key duties include interpreting test results (audiometry, tympanometry, OAEs, VRA, CPA, speech-in-noise, central auditory processing, cochlear implant evaluations), developing treatment recommendations, maintaining clinical caseload, ensuring compliance with HIPAA/Medicaid/EMR standards, documenting accurately, and supporting collaboration with physicians, educators, and support staff. The role requires NY licensure as an audiologist, NY Hearing Aid Dispensing license if applicable, and CCC-A; the position emphasizes clinical service delivery, patient-centered care, ongoing professional development, and occasional travel to schools or community settings.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) preferred; Master's degree in Audiology accepted if accompanied by current licensure and required certifications
- Current New York State license to practice Audiology required
- Current New York State Hearing Aid Dispensing License required if applicable for position
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from ASHA required
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic audiology, auditory rehabilitation, hearing aid technology, and patient counseling
- Experience with electronic medical records and audiology practice management systems preferred
