Job Summary
Administer diagnostic audiological tests to differentiate hearing disorders, including otoscopy, tympanometry, pure-tone air and bone conduction testing, and cochlear implant assessments. Physically examine outer ear structures, perform ear cleaning evaluations, fit and dispense hearing aids, and counsel individuals and families regarding test findings and management strategies. Coordinate and interpret results while referring patients to speech-language pathologists for rehabilitation or physicians for medical treatment as indicated.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or Clinical Doctorate in Audiology (AUD) prior to employment start date
- current and valid Audiology license in the state employed
- Completion of post-secondary education
- able to read, write and follow oral and written direction
- able to relate positively and professionally to residents, families and outside agencies
- work cooperatively with co-workers and customers
- capable of maintaining regular attendance
- meet all local health regulations
- pass a post-employment exam, if required
- current driver's license
- automobile liability insurance
- able to effectively and efficiently manage multiple tasks and job assignments
- Excellent communication skills
- ability to work both independently and within teams
- able to perform the essential job functions with or without accommodations
Desired Qualifications
- One (1) year in diagnostic evaluation of hearing, prevention, habilitation and rehabilitation services for auditory problems
