Job Summary
The Audio Visual Technician is responsible for setting up and installing audio and visual equipment for events. Key responsibilities include operating sound and lighting equipment, monitoring sound quality, diagnosing problems, and coordinating audio feeds with television images. The position requires strong communication skills for collaborating with directors and venue staff, as well as the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 200 pounds and performing maintenance duties. Candidates should have a high school diploma, vocational training, and two years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent plus advanced vocational training and two years of experience in audio visual and general building maintenance or construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must speak fluent English.
- Specialized knowledge and skills or certification within a field or discipline such as sound, televising and lighting equipment mechanics, and general maintenance.
Desired Qualifications
- Professional certification and license may be required by State and/or municipality regulations.
Additional Requirements
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
